An artist I am not but, most of my life I loved doodling and sketching. If there was paper and a pen or pencil in my reach I was doodling.
I did sketches over the years for schools, church, family and friends. What I did were simple and fun to do.
I had some photos of most of what I sketched that were lost when a computer locked up and stopped working.
I’ve wished that I had taken lessons, but my path in life was a very busy one and art lessons never entered my mind back then.
My Mother loved feeding birds so I did this sketch for her. It hung on her wall for many years.
When I had my “Mumsy’s Place” blog I needed a photo and wanted a comical one. I sketched this one and added a frame around it.
Back then my hair was frosted and permed. I wore makeup and jewelry and that actually looks a lot like I did at the time. 😊
I would love to be able to still doodle and sketch. Because of arthritis in my hands I am no longer able to enjoy what was my favorite hobby for many years.
Quite awhile back I was asked by an online friend to post some of my drawings. I hope she sees these and I am sorry I have no more to show.

My daughter is an amazing artist I don’t know how they do it. I don’t do art but I do performing arts, acting, apart from Jesus and my children, it is the love of my life. Carry on with your art Mags your drawings are really good. Have you ever been able to do prophetic art? Though I don’t do art I often doodle at church and then God will give me a word about what I’ve just drawn.

Yes my wife Georgine had to give up on handicrafts because of arthritis and its sad when that happens. You were good at it

I really like the drawing of the birds! You clearly do have a talent for drawing and sketching and coloring them. Did you use chalk, colored pencil, or water color? I think your birds are excellent. I have tried to draw birds a few times, back when I was making cards to send during the pandemic, but they were nowhere near the quality of yours! Thank you for posting these–your comedic sketch is fun!

Given that I love birds, too, I think your mother must have loved this drawing you did for her. I do not have any bird sketches at the moment, as I made them for the cards I was sending. I started a new sketch of one, but have not gotten back to it yet. I have never used colored pencils, though I think we have some in the art kit I bought for J when he was still doing art. I find it easier to work with water colors when I want the pale, transparent look to it, but I do not do them very often.

It is not the pain, it is the shape of my fingers and shaking hands. I don’t do well writing with pen and pencil either.
