Movies and Me

There are some movies that I never tire of watching. When I am in the mood to watch a movie most of the time I end up watching one I have seen many times.

When my sister discovers a good movie she lets me know about it. Some I add to the list of my most watched. She is really good at finding what I think are great movies.

The following movies I have watched so many times I have lost count of the times I watched them.

  • A Civil Action
  • Glory
  • Green Book
  • Hidden Figures
  • Hacksaw Ridge
  • Richard Jewel
  • Still Mine
  • The Best of Enemies
  • The Rainmaker
  • War Horse

This list is not all of the ones that I watch over and over. But it shows well the type of movies I enjoy.

Do you have a movie or movies that you watch many times and still enjoy each time you watch? Share if you choose to. You may have seen a good one I have not seen that I would like to see.

I haven’t seen any of those, so apparently we don’t have the same taste in movies. I like the old classics and know them by heart. I like almost any of the Hallmark movies.

Most of the movies on my list are not new. There are not many new ones that I find worth watching. I like movies based on fact and true life events. I also like some of the old classics and have watched them more than once. There are some Hallmark movies I have enjoyed.

I love movies of many genres. They are my absolute favorite pastime. I have often wondered, if I had to choose only 10 movies to watch for the remainder of my life what would I choose. That would be impossible for me. I have Christmas favorites that I watch every year, and I have what I call Valentine favorites that I watch every year. I love way too many movies to even begin a list here, for sure. I love every movie you mention, and have watched all of them more than once. I too love movies based on actual events. I will mention Philadelphia, a big favorite inspired by true events. All the President’s Men from 1976, another great movie based on true events. I could go on and on, but I won’t. :} Love this topic!

If I had to choose only 10 movies I would have a problem also. There are way too many that I enjoy watching over and over to choose only 10. I have watched Philadelphia a few times. Hurts my heart and I cry so much. I have also seen President’s Men from 1976, Both great movies. You could have gone on and on all you liked, I would have enjoyed all you had to say.

I haven’t watched any on your list. I’ve tended toward dramas, comedies and science fiction, though. There’s so much choice now but many of the offerings are pretty bad!

All of the movies I listed and the ones I like the most are those based on fact and true life events. I have enjoyed a few of older comedies. And there are a few science fiction that I like. It is rare if I find a movie I like now days.

we watch every Christmas season ” Love Actually” but on my own I never miss when they show it ” death under the sun ” with Peter Ustinoff or “Still Magnolia” and ” fried green tomatoes”, then my guilty pleasures are “The Gremlins” and “ET” and the original ” Friday 13″ or ” Scream 1″

Hacksaw Ridge is the only one I’ve watched out of that list. There is so much garbage on the web these days its hard to find something positive and worth watching.

Not really a movie watcher here Mags. Lately though. I discovered a free movie app at Playstore so I understand them even without my hearing aids because they are dubbed. Thanks for this list.😘

I can almost quite the whole Tombstone movie. Val Kilmer’s best role ever as Doc.

There are movies I can almost do that in too. Besides “Tombstone” I liked him in “Top Gun”, “Top Gun Maverick” and “Thunderheart”. I have watched Thunderheart many times. I think he was the best actor ever to play Doc.

I haven’t seen any of those movies, Mags, my interests are very limited to science fiction such as movies about outer space or sometimes romance. Movies like Pleasantville are also interesting as they are very different!

I have watched and enjoyed some science fiction movies. Especially if they have some of my favorite actors in them. Most of the movies I watch are based on true life events and facts. Keep enjoying the movies you like John.

I am not sure that I have seen any of those movies. I will have to check them out. The movies I pick to watch generally turns out to be cautionary tales. Dan should have learned the first time he took me out. I chose the movie and it was “The English Patient”. That was back in the days of my being a single parent and working 80 hours a week to provide for my three teenagers. The only redeeming quality of that movie was that I slept through at least half of it without missing anything. 🙂

I have watched “The English Patient” at least twice that I remember. The second time it was not as interesting to me as the first time I watched it. My favorite movies are based on fact and true life events.

You might enjoy ‘Flamin’ Hot’, Mags. It is a true story about a Mexican working as a janitor at Frito Lays. We watched it on Sunday morning and both Dan and I thought it was really good.

Thank you Anne. I watched the movie and really enjoyed it. It is one of the kind I enjoy for sure. I had tears off and on through the whole movie. Happy and sad tears. I even felt anger at times. I told my sister about the movie.

I agree totally. The English Patient was the most boring movie I have ever seen. Total waste of time for me. Sad thing is I love Ralph Fiennes, Juliette Binoche and Kristen Scott Thomas.

I’m not a movie watcher. I worked at a movie theater for four years and one of the perks was that we could watch movies for free, and bring a guest, any time we wanted. In four years, I took advantage of that precisely twice, lol. But I know a LOT of people enjoy them and I’m glad you do, Mags.

That is quite alright that you are not a movie watcher. I enjoy the ones based on fact and true life events more than any others.
