It has been awhile

I’ve not been blogging for awhile and I am hopeful that that everything has settled down now. There have been issues, but they turned into blessings. Maybe I will have something to blog about now.

Pine trees in my backyard.

Lightening struck some of them and they had to be removed.

I will miss the trees, but the grass will get more sunshine and that is a blessing. There will also be less pine needles to be removed from the grass. Another blessing.

The 53 year old power meter pole in my backyard fell at 3:13 a.m. one morning.

Now there is a new pole with all new things on it and everything is up to code.

When the old pole fell I did not lose electricity. An old TV cable line that was attached to the top of the pole and to the back of the house held it up just enough to keep the power line from snapping off. That gave me time to get the new pole installed.

Two blessings there.

All the people that helped me get things back in order were wonderful. Another blessing there.

The Lord is always there in our times of need.

And what a blessing it is to have a new gas line, a new hot water heater, a new powerline pole and no water leaks.

I have managed to work a few puzzles. I want post them all though. :)

Both of these were easy and I got them put together in a few hours.

This puzzle was a gift from one of the guys from the tree company that did the tree work for me.

It was not a few hours or a one day project for sure. Working on it off and on I had it finished in a little less than three days.

It is a very large butterfly. The table it is on is 36 inches wide. The butterfly almost reaches each side.

It was fun to work, but a challenge for me with no border. He gave me another puzzle with no border, but I am not ready to tackle it just yet. :)

I hope all of you are doing well. I hope to get caught up on reading some of your blog posts. I know I have missed a lot of them. Hugs and blessings.

I understand that. The last six months have kept me busy with unexpected things to take care of.

A blessing when issues become blessings. And it also depends on how we face problems in life. Regards, Lakshmi

Yes indeed. I enjoyed all the people. I told my friend there has been more people at my place in the last six months than in the last six years. LOL

That is amusing. My place is usually very quiet, too.

When we were living in Singapore a fire ball “like lightning” shot down the pathway leading to the cafeteria of an academy and hit a tree. The tree vaporized when it was hit. My daughter was in shock as it just missed her. Another event on that campus was when a lightning bolt hit a telephone line while one of the students was on the phone and it burned her face through the wires.

I am glad your daughter was escaped the strike. The tree in my yard that got the most of the strike was like sawdust wrapped in bark when they took it down. That is sad about the girls face. The lightening has really been terrible here in the last few years. It has struck several homes and burned them.

Oh my gosh, so this is why you’ve been absent from WP, Mags! Blessings indeed my friend. It’s a great feeling to know that your utilities are all up to code and ready for the next round of storms and there have been a lot of them back east!

Sorry about the trees but they eventually have to go. It’s better than falling on your house which happened to my sister a few years ago. I love the butterfly puzzle! You must be a puzzle master to do that one, Mags, now way would I tackle that!

Maybe you can put some sticky, clear stuff on that puzzle and wall mount it in a frame. Be well, see ya soon!

Thank you my dear friend for your kind comment. One tree was dead and others were in the process. They were 80 to 90 feet tall and i any of them would have fallen they would have destroyed someone’s home no matter what direction they fell. Lots of dollars flew away but I have peace of mind now. It is storm season here and a big one they say is coming tomorrow night.

I thought about trying to keep the puzzle but couldn’t think of a way to do it. I left it on the table for several days so my friend that loves butterflies could see it. She loved it. Hugs and blessings to you John.

That was nice of you to leave the puzzle there for your friend. I guess you can have fun building the puzzle again! You saved yourself a possible lawsuit by taking those trees down, people are different today… Thanks Mags, you too!
