After my husband developed Dementia he spent most of his time in his chair watching television and napping. He didn’t sleep much and rarely slept in his bed.
There were two things he did all the way up the end of his life.
Every day after he retired he read the local news paper after breakfast. Later in the day he would read his Bible.
What a blessing to see him not losing the ability to continue to do at least these two things that he loved to do.
All the children were out on their own and we were no longer fostering children or animals.
It was just my husband, Chancy our little dog and our three cats, Patches, Snookums and PooGirl.
Patches always read the Bible and newspaper with my husband. I was so blessed to be able to watch them read together.
When I started this blog my plan was to put out short posts about little things. That didn’t seem to work out.
I have been blogging since the late 90’s on several different platforms of which most are no longer in existence. This is my sixth blog on WordPress.
I did not blog for a few years because I had nothing to blog about. I missed blogging so I finally decided to start this one. But now I have no idea what to do with it.
When we fostered children and animals I posted about them.
When we had a bird haven in our backyard I took photos and shared bird photos.
Sharing a meal together
When we were home schooling I shared stories about that.
I had a blog for my little dog Chancy and shared photos and antics that brought me joy. He had his own garden and loved helping us with yard work.
Chancy with his favorite ball. He had many toys but this $1.00 ball and two other toys that were gifted to him were his favorites.
When my husband developed Dementia I started a blog about our journey. It gave me a place to share and to find other caregivers that I could learn from. It was a life saver for me.
Now with both my little Chancy and my husband no longer in this life I find myself rather boring. :) I am very blessed for sure. The Lord and I have many conversations day and night. And He sees that my needs are met.
But I just don’t know what will happen next with my blog. I really would like to have a theme, but it may turn out to be a little of this and little of that.
I appreciate all of my followers. Thank you so much for following and for the “Likes” and comments.
I will continue to enjoy your photos, your shared thoughts and stories and art work on the blogs that I follow.
Hang in there with me and we will see what happens next.
