This is true for many people, but I am not one of them.
I have moved on, but a lot of my past that was not good is not something I have forgotten. And I don’t want to forget it.
Every time a piece of my dark days come to mind I am thankful because it reminds me of how much God did for me and still does for me every day.
Some days I listen to sad music with words much like what I lived through. It is amazing how much better I feel after memories of bad situations come to mind and I again thank God for bringing me out of them.
Each of us know what works best to help us to always be thankful for the rescues and blessings in our lives.
As I was writing this post part of a song came to mind…”Me and Jesus got our own thing going, me and Jesus got it all worked out.” From the song “Me and Jesus” by Tom T Hall. Together me and Jesus get things done every day.
Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read “Like” or comment. Prayers, love, hugs and blessings for each and every one of you.

Thank you for posting, Mags! So true! Remembering our blessings, especially contrasted against challenges, makes gratitude even more amplified. I hope you have an awesome day!

Love the post, Mags! I agree we shouldnโt forget the past. We learn from it. We learn to trust and lean on Jesus in our failures and we learn to give Him the praise and glory.

Interesting that you like Tom T. Here’s another little bit of info about me that you might find hard to believe.
I had one date with Tom T Hall.
He was DJ at the radio station in the little town of Spencer WV, way back in the day.
He was supposedly engaged to a girl down south somewhere , but he played the field while he was living in Spencer. You rarely ever see that period in his life mentioned.
He was a most unusual individual!

Wow! You had a date with him, how cool is that. I don’t find it hard at all that you had a date with him. He is not one of my favorite singers but some of his songs I like. I love that we are getting to know each other. I have had encounters with famous people spent time with some of them and loved near some. Thank you for telling me this Vero it has made my day. Hugs

I will check the spam folder. Sometimes comments just disappear for some unknown reason.

If we’re lucky … and maybe a little bit smart … we can learn from the past. We don’t need to dwell on it but I agree with you, Mags, there’s not much to be gained from forgetting it completely. Learn from it and move on, and realize how good life can be.

I agree Anneli. You are much better with words than I am. I have learned a lot from the past. Thank you so much for your comment.

Well, I don’t know about the words bit, but we all can benefit from experience. You were smart enough to realize that. We never stop learning.

Here is your comment Ruth. The reason you did not see it right away is because I have to approve all comments before they are visible. Thank you so much for reading and leaving a comment. Hugs and blessings to you.

I have that feature turned off. I won’t use it unless I start having problems with nasty comments.

That is a good idea Vero, I had never thought to do that. It would be less trouble for me to do the same. Having to have comments approved causes some to think their comment did not go through. Thank you.

And sometimes they DON’T go through. If you happen to be busy and don’t get around to approving them for a while, they tend to disappear.
