For several years my sister and brother-in-law purchased used jigsaw puzzles at multiple places. They would work the puzzles and then ship them to me.
Sometimes a puzzle would have a missing piece. But the puzzles were nice ones and fun to work so they would send them to me anyway.
My dear, sweet brother-in-law who was talented in many ways would draw on a piece of paper the shape of the missing puzzle piece.
He also would put on paper where in the puzzle the missing piece was supposed to be. If it was a corner piece he would show which corner and how far from the border it was. No matter where in the puzzle a piece was missing he did the same thing with each puzzle and the missing piece.
He was thoughtful and kind enough to do that so time would not be wasted looking for a puzzle piece that was not there.
Another one of those little things that matter and too many to count blessings.
Thank you for visiting and hugs and blessings to you all.

A beautiful account, Mags. Your brother-in-law sounds like a thoughtful and loving person. Itβs lovely how something as small as marking a missing puzzle piece can carry such warmth and care. Thank you for sharing this sweet memory.

What a great idea. It’s always disappointing to finish a puzzle and have a piece missing, but knowing ahead at least you can be prepared :)

When we have the cousins reunion, we do a group jigsaw puzzle that is always fun. We just rotate by now and then and put in a few pieces. Sweet to have a fun tradition with your sister and brother-in-law.

That was such a sweet thing for him to do. If I find one missing I make note on the box and put a little circle around where the piece should go.

That was the first thing I thought of when you said pieces were missing. If you knew where it was missing, you’d save time looking for that piece. I love doing jigsaws too.
