When I put out the post about the water hose I had no idea that my sweet neighbor would be coming to help me. This past weekend I needed someone to come quickly. After watering part of the backyard I walked around to the front yard to turn off the water. The spigot had stopped working and I could not turn off the water. I called my next door neighbor and he came over to help. The water needed to be turned off at the meter and being the weekend the water department was closed.

My neighbor came up with an idea and it worked. It was a temporary fix. He told me what I needed to fix it where it would give me no more issues. I ordered the part that was needed and it arrived on Tuesday. The temporary fix was working so I was in no hurry to have someone attach the part to the spigot.
On Thursday I ordered groceries. When the man delivered my groceries. He said ” Did you know that your water hose has a hole in it and water is flowing out?” No, I did not know and I had no idea what I was going to do next, but I was depending on the Lord as always to help me.
I had no idea how long the water had been flowing out of the hole in the hose. It was watering the flowerbed very well so water was not wasted. I am thankful for that.

I called the water department to see if they would send someone to turn off the water at the meter. Only to find out that all the men were busy on a dig, but someone would be out to turn it off as soon as possible. Less than ten minutes later a very nice man came to turn off the water. He turned the water off at the meter then he put the splitter that I had purchased on the spigot for me. He then turned the water back on and it worked great.
He told me the same thing happened with the spigot at his house and he put a splitter on his. I found out today the man that came to turn off the water and put on the splitter was the manager of the water department. He saved me from having to go without water.
The three men were there at the right time to help when I needed someone to help.
A few weeks ago I had decided I needed a lighter weight and shorter hose to use for watering the front yard. I had opened the package and checked out the hose, but had not yet used it. The hose with a turn off valve on the end turned out to be just what was needed for the temporary fix.
This is one of those many times The Lord knows way before we do what we are going to need. I am so grateful. So many blessings it is impossible to count them.

Despite what is happening in a world that increasingly seems not to value people its encouraging to know there are still a few who are kind and supportive. I’m so glad you had this assistance when needed.

There are good people willing to help, we just don’t hear about them as much as we should. Thank you Ian, I am glad too.

This is so wonderful, Mags. Just another story of how God cares about every area in our lives — even the water we use :) Several years ago I owned a little fixer upper. One day I got a notice in the mail that I could insure my gas and water lines and it would add less than $10 a month to my gas bill. At first I wasn’t going to do it (stupidly, lol) but in the end, I signed up for the insurance. Not a month later I had a water line break that was between my house and the curb. Beyond the curb it would have been the city’s problem. Before the curb, it was my problem! What could have cost hundreds of dollars to repair did not cost me a dime — because I had gotten the insurance three weeks before :)

Thank you, Jean. And thank you for sharing your story. Sometimes we miss things that the Lord is trying to prompt us to do. I am glad you didn’t miss that time and signed up for the insurance. He really cares for us no matter what is going on He is there to see that we get the help we need. Hugs

It came back when I rebooted the router and cable box. I stopped by the local Cox store and made an appointment for tomorrow for a tech to check things out, it’s back but not running right. The woman at the Cox store said that cable is better than fibre!
