It has been fifteen months since my little Chancy Man passed. I miss him so much and when I go out in the front yard memories of him and his garden come flooding through my mind.
He loved helping us work in the yard. He would carry limbs and put them in a pile of his choosing. When we dug holes to plant something or dig weeds out. Chancy would dig holes.
To keep him from digging anywhere and everywhere I assigned him a small corner near the fence and taught him to do his digging there. It didn’t take long for him to catch on and he was proud of his garden.
He worked in his garden digging roots until he was too old and had arthritis.
In the video the little dog next door is telling him something, but Chancy is too busy getting roots out of his garden to pay him attention.

Here he is standing in a small portion of his garden. Some days I want to work in the yard and plant things. Other days not so much, it is not as much fun doing it without my little Chancy Man.
He was my buddy for sixteen years and what a blessing it was to share my life with him. I have had many dogs in my life, but none like him. He was special very smart and never let me out of his sight. And gave me many laughs.

Our furbabies are so precious. They bring such pure love and joy into our lives—teaching us how to live in the moment. 🙏

So sweet to see him doing what he loved. The video was too cute…. And that picture belongs in a big frame. May he rest in Doggy Heaven …
May God comforts your heart.

What a sweetheart, and helping in the garden – awesome! I am so sorry for your loss and can very much relate. Our pets are such a big part of our lives. We adopt rescue dogs. Our little guy is now 15 and has a heart condition, but he still loves to be outside, and he joins us every morning out on the patio.

Thank you, Susan. Bless you for adopting rescue dogs. My little Chancy Man was a rescue. He was 6 months old when he came to us. I am happy that your little guy still loves to be outside.

It’s so hard to let go of our pets, and some are more special than others. I’m so sorry you’ve lost your little Chancy Man. He looked like he was doing a good job on those roots.

I was watching the video of Chancy Man digging those roots, and the barking dog made Steffi jump up and look at the screen, and brought Reggie down the hall to see where the dog was.
